Minutes of MADISON VILLAGE Special Meeting Held November 26, 2001

 

 

 

 

SPECIAL MEETING                  November 26, 2001

 

 

Mayor Reed called the meeting to order at 7:18 p.m.  Council members Mr. Britton, Mr. Burgard, Mr. Smith, and Mr. Evangelista were present.  Also in attendance was Clerk-Treasurer Ross. 

 

VISITORS:

 

Tim Behm, of the Behm Family Funeral Home, spoke regarding a copy of a letter he handed out to council members regarding the collection of delinquent taxes from residents of Madison Village.  He mentioned to council a confidential list of remaining delinquent taxpayers for its use in making phone calls in an attempt to collect these delinquent taxes.  Mayor Reed said council would consider use of this list and would make a decision at the next council meeting to be held on Monday, December 3, 2001.

 

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

ORDINANCE #68-2001 was read by Mayor Reed for the first time.  AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR AND CLERK-TREASURER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH STATE AUDITOR, JIM PETRO, LOCAL GOVERNMENT SERVICES DIVISION FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING TRAINING FOR THE MADISON VILLAGE CLERK-TREASURER AT A COST OF $32 PER HOUR, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.  First reading.

 

 

Mr. Britton motioned for adjournment.  Mr. Burgard seconded.

 

Meeting was adjourned at 7:28 p.m.
