Madison Village

 

The Village of Madison, Ohio is currently accepting applications for the position of full-time Police Chief.  Madison Village is located in the eastern part of Lake County in northeastern Ohio.  The Village includes the interchange of I90 and SR528 at mile marker 212 and has an area of approximately 4 square miles with 15 miles of roads and 3200 residents.  The police department has 4 full-time officers, including an Officer-In-Charge, a part-time clerk, 12 part-time sworn officers, one auxiliary officer, and one part-time school crossing guard.  Madison is a statutory village with six council members and a mayor.

 

Requirements for the position are:

 

  • Minimum of a high school diploma, additional education preferred. **
  • Must have a valid State of Ohio Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and a current Ohio Peace Officer Training Certificate.
  • Applicants not currently employed by the Madison Village Police Department must have a minimum of ten years as a peace officer, with at least three (3) years command level/supervisory rank experience.
  • The applicant must be a superior communicator who is well versed in community policing and has demonstrated the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with the community, employees, and Village leaders.
  • Executive level training is a plus.

 

Hiring salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience with a range of $43,000 up to $50,000.  Excellent benefits.
